Wilma “Billie” Blue

Billie Blue, the mother of Project Cupid co-founder Josh Blue, was diagnosed with HER2+ metastatic breast cancer in 2008.  She beat the breast cancer, but one of her lymph nodes had leaked prior to her surgery.  In 2009, 3 tumors were found on her liver.  Within 6 weeks of radiation and chemo, the tumors had been destroyed.  In early 2011, the cancer had spread to Billie’s spine.  In 2012, the tumor destroyed the vertebrae it was on, breaking her back.  On August 29th, 2012, after 2 back surgeries to repair the damage, Ma Blue passed away from heart failure, due to the amount of pain medication, chemo and other drugs she had been taking to combat her cancer.

In response to her fight with cancer, Project Cupid is raising money for Dr. Ian Krop’s Metastic Breast Cancer Research at Dana Farber.  All funds from future Project Trivia events will go towards this, as well as a percentage of sales from Josh Blue’s ebay auctions.

So far, between Project Trivia and Ebay sales, Project Cupid has raised almost 6000 dollars for Metastatic Breast Cancer research
