Project Cupid was created in 2009 by Amy Blue after the death of her nine year old cousin Isaias Valentin's eleven month battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, a cancer that begins in the bone marrow.
In the inaugural year, the 1st Annual Project Cupid Charity Date Auction raised $3,500 for Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
"Love cures people-both the ones who give it and the ones who receive it." - Dr. Karl Menninger
Our goal for the Charity Date Auction this year is to raise $5,000 with a charity date auction to be held on February 4, 2011.
All proceeds will benefit the Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) research fund, a very rare subtype of leukemia that has a 83 percent death rate.
On September 5, 2009 just four days shy of his 10th Birthday, Isaias lost the battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Isaias was a very happy child who took great pleasure in seeing those around him smile and be happy.
